About B.Frederic
B. Frederic is a landscape/abstract painter who has been described as a self-taught or folk artist.
Like most landscapists, B Frederic loves outdoors. It is only natural that he grew up surrounded by nature, be it mountain, woods, ocean, or prairie. B. Frederic’s artistic horizon has unfolded extensively since his childhood in the suburban woods of New Jersey. As a teenager having a home walking-distance to the sea, B. Frederic spent a great deal of time by the beach, and thus inspired deeply from the ocean, the cloud, and the sky.
Unlike most artists nowadays who have no hesitation pursuing and exploring art in creative ways, B. Frederic chooses a path less taken, focusing on traditional, or seemingly traditional, oil and acrylic paintings. With a variety of topics painted, the only fathomable characteristic all the work has in common is a certain boldness of color or texture that documents the struggle and process of its making.
To B. Frederic, the calling as a folk artist is to channel his experience of the mother nature and her marvels to the modern society. His works register the pursuit of childhood/teenager memories, and the constant struggle of modern society. Without a doubt, B. Frederic’s art works are the fine arts of our time.
